Box 2296, North Conway, NH 03860 603-356-5088 - Our White Mountains Resort Top Pick  , but a couple of others below were close behind.The Crown Ridge Resort is a small 20 unit resort in private wooded area about 3 miles from North Conway. Very spacious over 1600 sq ft 2 bedroom, 2 bath, and 3 bedroom, 2 1/2 bath units. All have whirlpools in the Master Bath. Most of the units have a view of a small stream + forested area. Some of the furniture was showing a little age a few years ago, but the 2-bedroom unit we had was very clean. The units may have been redone by now, ask if one you are considering has. Many activities nearby including canoeing and white-water rafting on Sako River in the Mount Washington Valley, many hiking trails, 3 options for downhill skiing, outlet shopping, plus there are many restaurants in North Conway. Resort location is about 10 miles from the east end of the scenic Kangamangus Highway #112 drive through the White Mountains over to Lincoln, which is particularly beautiful in the Fall. They have an attractive clubhouse with an indoor swimming pool, hot tub, pool table, and exercise room, which is shared with their sister Resort, the Mountain View at Crown Ridge. They also have a tennis court, basketball court, and playground. There were no resort sponsored activities, but you really don't neeed any. (The "sister" Resort - Mountain View at Crown Ridge Resort has newer buildings, but generally much smaller units.) Note that the Crown Ridge Resort units do not have air conditioning, which may be a consideration in the summer months, altho nights in the White Mountains generally are cool, and most windows in the units open and have screens + are fans. I recommend you join the Timeshare Users Group - TUG ($15/Yr.), or RedWeek.com ($14.99/Yr.) to see User Resort Reviews and ratings + more detailed info on the Resorts Listed on this page. I belong to both and find the TUG Site generally has more Resort Reviews, as well as direct links to the RCI, II, and Vacation Time Share Resort Web Site pages. The RedWeek Site usually has more For Sale and For Rent listings, and is much easier to navigate. They will send you e-mail alerts of new rental or for sale listings at resorts you are interested in. They also have a Vacation Rental Escrow Service available. Don't think you have to necessarily find your rental on RedWeek to use it. An excrow service is recommended if you are renting directly from an Owner Vs from a onsite Resort Management Company which will usually be a Licensed Real estate Broker. |
